Raymond C. Custer, age 89, of Villas passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Victoria Manor of North Cape May. Raymond was born September 15, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA; was formerly of the Juniata Park section of that city; and has been a Cape May area resident for the last 6 years. He is the son of the late Raymond and the late Katherine (Schrey) Custer. Raymond served his country in the US Marine Corps during World War II. He was employed by SKF Industries, Philadelphia, PA. Raymond was a former member of the VFW of Philadelphia and the Villas Fishing Club. He enjoyed watching the Phillies and the Eagles. Raymond was preceded in death by his wives Millie and Mary, and his son Raymond III. He is survived by one daughter: Barbara J. Lewalski of Villas, NJ and his 3 grandchildren: Michael, Jonathan Raymond Custer, & Wayne Lewalski. There will be a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St. Raymond's RC Church, Bayshore Road and Ocean Avenue, Villas, NJ 08251; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
