James D. Dickinson, Sr., age 87, of Cold Spring passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at his home. James was born March 7, 1927 in Cold Spring, NJ and has been a life-long Cape May area resident. He was a retired career Army Officer (CW3) serving over 20 years. James was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, earning a Bronze Star for his service in Korea. He was an avid racing fan who enjoyed building and racing cars; and spending time with his family - especially his children and grandchildren. James was a life-long member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. He is survived by his children: Sheryl (Craig) Harmon, Peggi (Gerald) Stout, James D (Karen) Dickinson, Jr., and Kathy (Steve) Cline; his brother Lloyd (Edna) Dickinson; and his sister-in-law Mary Ellen Dickinson. Also surviving are his 12 grandchildren: Kim, Curt, Tiffany, Gabrielle, Jeremy, Shannon, Kelli, Courtney, Jim, Camille, Patrick, & Joe; and his 24 great grandchildren. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 702 Seashore Road, Cold Spring, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
