Richard R Wisneski, "Rick Dee", age 71, of Cape May and formerly of Pitman, NJ and Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Cape Regional Medical. Center in Cape May Court House, NJ, with his daughter Jessica by his side.
Born in Philadelphia on June 18, 1943, a graduate of Edison High School in Philadelphia, he principally resided in Pitman, NJ before moving to Cape May over 20 years ago and was the son of Richard and Anne Wisneski. Rick will be dearly missed by friends and family including his daughter Jessica Wisneski of Cape May and two grandchildren, Michael and Haley Robinson. He is predeceased by his parents and daughter Renee Robinson (2013). Rick served proudly in the National Guard as a Medic during the Vietnam War. He previously was a communications professor at the former Glassboro State College, produced over 100 TV fishing shows, and involved in television commercial voice-overs. Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He loved his extensive and colorful career in the Music Business. He was an award winning and veteran Radio Broadcaster in the Philadelphia market, owner of a record store chain, DJ, concert and talent producer, event promoter, and an overall music supporter. A dedicated Community Volunteer in Cape May, Rick served on the Board of Directors for The Cape May Jazz Festival, Hosted a Radio Show for WCFA, station of the Center for Community Arts, and presided as Master of Ceremonies at numerous community events.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, September 13 from 11:00am -12:00 pm at Cape May United Methodist Church, 635 Washington St, Cape May, NJ. Immediately following services family and friends are invited to Repast for music and reflection in the Church's Community Hall.
