OBITUARY Robert C McBride, 69, of Erma passed into Heaven on October 18, 2012. Mr. McBride is survived by his loyal wife, Gerri (nee Grassi) McBride. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on June 17, 2012. He was born in Olympia, Washington on April 12, 1943 to the late James A and Dorothy L McBride and grandparents Pearl and Nordema Hester. Mr. McBride graduated from John Bartram High School, Class of 1962, and resided in Philadelphia before moving to New Jersey. He was a former Philadelphia Police Officer in the 17th District. Other employment also consisted of Wise Potato Chips, John Hancock Insurance in Mays Landing, and owned & operated Golden Hands, Inc. in Rio Grande. He was currently working at Anchor Insurance Agency for the past 27 years. The staff will miss his laid back attitude and his daily words of mantra, "Life Is Good"! Mr. McBride had a very generous, kind spirit. He was devoted to coaching all divisions of baseball with the community of Lower Township. He also helped graciously with the Cape May Dancers. His hobbies were fishing, golfing, building models, and every year he looked forward to assembling his Christmas platform. Mr. McBride is survived by his three children: Sean and his wife Catherine of Swathmore, PA; Stephanie of North Cape May, NJ; Patrick and his wife Kaitlin of Lower Township, NJ; and his four grandchildren: Alexia, Mason, Eliana, & Mekenzie - all whom he cared for and loved very much. He is also survived by five sisters: Sis wife of Bill Fisher, Cathy wife of Dominic Mariani, Dottie wife of Dymtro Lakota, Theresa wife of Dan Mellor, & Vicki Uffelman; one sister-in-law Karen McBride; and many nieces & nephews. Robert was preceded in death by one brother Joseph McBride. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Mr. McBride lived his life for his family and always put them first. His inner soul and courage prevailed through his long fight with illness. He died peacefully and quietly with his wife, children, and extended family present. His beautiful, gentle spirit will live on forever through the many lives he touched. There will be a viewing Friday, October 26, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ. A viewing will also be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204 followed by a Mass. The burial will follow the service at St Mary's Cemetery, 1056 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ.
