Obituary of John Howard Evans

John Howard Evans, age 92, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Camden, he lived most recently in Medford Lakes. Husband of the late Jean (nee Porter), father of Craig (Joy) Westmont, NJ, Jeffrey (Cindy) Port Orange, FL, and Beverly (Ken) Hudson, Sicklerville, NJ. Grandfather of Neil, Claire, Nicole, Tiffany, Danielle, Lindsey, Chelsea, and Haley. Great-grandfather of five. Very special friend of Leanore Hoffman. He graduated from Collingswood High School in 1941 and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for New Jersey Bell Telephone for many years. He loved visiting the NJ shore, traveling in his RV, fishing, and cheering on his Philadelphia sports teams. He was a member of the Colls Old Grads Club. Friends may call from 10:30 -11 on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204 where services will be held at 11. Interment will follow at the Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery in Erma. In his memory, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
