Obituary of Knut Harry Axelsson

Please share a memory of Knut to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Harry Axelsson, born February 19, 1931, died peacefully at home on July 9, 2014. A Swedish immigrant, he came to this country with his wife in August of 1954 and settled in Cape May. Captain Harry was a commercial fisherman. He loved his work, he loved his family, and he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For over 40 years he served in the Cape May County Jail Ministry, and also served as a Sunday school teacher at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Erma; and never missed an opportunity to witness of the love and grace of our Lord. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elsa, his five children: Lars (Darlene), Tory (Bo Magnusson), Karen, Dan, and Tina. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, along with a host of extended family and friends. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 702 Seashore Rd, Erma, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. As Harry was a missionary minded man, in lieu of flowers, contributions in Harry's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choosing.
