Doris Mae McDermott, age 87, of Green Creek passed away peacefully Monday, June 23, 2014 at her home. Doris was born October 6, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA. She is the daughter of the late Milton C and the late Agnes (Moody) Tierney. Doris was employed by the Cape May County Board of Elections as an Election Clerk. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sharon McDermott, her husband Francis McDermott, and four brothers: Milton, Gerald, Clifford, & Donald Tierney. She is survived by three daughters: Margaret "Pinkie" Candell, Kate Kauffman, & Susanne Difino; and two sons: Francis McDermott, Jr., Sean P McDermott. Also surviving are her brother Roy M Tierney, twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
