I had known June for a short time. We became neighbors when I married the man across the street. I enjoyed our brief conversations while outside tending to our gardens and yard work. I spent a few hours with Chick and June a few months ago when it became evident that illness had started to take it's toll. I was blessed with a few tales from the past, the circumstances surrounding their wedding and honeymoon and Chick's departure soon after to serve our country overseas. What a story!
Chick, please know that Dick and I extend our sincere sympathy to you and your children. We are here, right across the street. Please call on us at any time for any reason.
