Obituary of Harry Joseph Barnstead

Harry J. Barnstead, Jr., age 73, of Erma passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Harry was born in Philadelphia, was formerly of Northeast Philly, and has been a Cape May area resident since 1994. He was a graduate of Father Judge High School in Philadelphia. Harry was a Postal Clerk at several Post Offices last working at Fox Chase Post Office in Philadelphia, retiring after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, enjoyed riding his bicycle, and spending time with his family (especially watching movies together). Harry is survived by his wife of 52 years Barbara (nee Watson) of Erma; his mother Bertha Wallace; his son Harry J (Karen) Barnstead, III of North East Philadelphia, PA; his son Tim (Julie) Barnstead of Virginia; his Daughter Rene (Ed) Fletcher of Myrtle Beach, SC; and his daughter Brenda (Jim) Owens of North Cape May, NJ. Also surviving are his brother Ronald Barnstead of Blackwood, NJ; 9 grandchildren; and 1 great granddaughter. There will be a funeral service at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
