Paul Williams, age 71, of Villas passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at his home. Paul was born in Philadelphia, Pa; was a former resident of Collingswood, NJ from 1972 to 1990; and has been a Cape May area resident since 1990. He served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired after 30 years of service as Assistant Fire Chief at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. He also retired from the Lower Cape May Regional School District as Head Custodian. Paul was a member of: Local F61 IAFF (where he served as Secretary-Treasurer); was past Chaplain of DAV 44 in Del Haven, NJ; a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Post 3546 of Erma; was a member of the Cape May County Emerald Society; the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2839; American Legion Post 184 in Wildwood; and the Sunset Beach Sportsman's Club. He was preceded in death by his wife Wendy E Williams (Broad), his daughter Maryanne Williams, and his brother Donald Williams. Paul is survived by his children: Sally (Michael) Johnson, Wendy (Mark S) Hueftle, Carol (Jack) McHugh, Anne (Charles) Pfaff, Dawn Williams, Linda Williams (Al Pierce), and Jessica Dennison. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Justin Pfaff, David P Williams, Alyssa Hueftle, Timothy Dennison, Eric Johnson, Mark M Hueftle, Ashley Koodray, Sara Johnson, Nicolas Pierce, & Marley Redfield; his great grandson David J Williams; his sister Catherine (Kay) Higginbotham; his brother Norman Williams; his sister Maryanne Niedzwiadek; and his brother James Williams. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St Raymond's RC Church, Ocean & Bayshore Rd, Villas, NJ 08251; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
