Obituary of William R Gordon

William R "Bill" Gordon, Sr., age 82, of Cape May passed away peacefully Friday, April 25, 2014. Bill was born December 14, 1931 in Philadelphia to the late Francis and Emma Gordon. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Bill was a graduate of Drexel University with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a long time employee of Sun Oil Company, Marcus Hook, NJ; was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing golf, and was a member of the Wildwood Country Club. On July 24, 1999, he married his loving wife Marie Benner Gordon who survives. Also surviving are his daughter Rosanne (Neil) Waugh; his son William Gordon, Jr.; his brothers: Francis Gordon & James Gordon; and his six grandchildren: Emily, Devin, Matt, Joey, Willy, & Ben. He was preceded in death by his brother Jack Gordon. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St Mary's Cemetery, 1056 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ 08204.
