Obituary of Dorothy M Fean

Dorothy M. Fean, age 87, of Sea Isle city, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Crest Haven Nursing Home. Dorothy was born in Philadelphia, but has been a Sea Isle City resident for over 60 years. She is the daughter of the late Alvin J Fean and the late Catharine R (Kleschick) Fean. Dorothy was employed in housekeeping by the Sea Isle Inn. She was an avid Philadelphia Flyers fan holding season tickets for over 30 years. Dorothy was a member of St Joseph's RC Church, past Regent of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas #1655, past District Deputy Wildwood Court St Ann Aloysius # 1634, former member Chamber of Commerce of Sea Isle City, Little Flower Club, lead in Hallahan & Roman Senior plays, Candlelighters, AARP # 710, received Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award State of New Jersey, 55 years as Sea Isle Ambulance Corps, Medal for Meritorious Service to the Church of Camden from Bishop Guilfoyle, Woman of the Year Knights of Columbus Sea Isle Chapter #3560, and honored by Cape Women's Resource Fund. She is survived by her sisters: Catharine Edgerton Lenker of San Diego, CA; Claire (Albert) Tanzler of Maple Shade, NJ; Eileen Fean of Sea Isle City, NJ; Rosalie (Albert) Pfluger of Maitland, FL; and many loving nieces, nephews, & cousins. Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers: Alvin & Robert Fean; and her sister Marie Weigand. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 25, 2014 at St Joseph's RC Church, 132 44th Street, Sea Isle City, NJ 08243; where friends will be received from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at St Peter & Paul Cemetery, 1600 S Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA.
