Raymond R. Forbes, age 76, of North Cape May passed away peacefully Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Raymond was born in Philadelphia, Pa; was formerly from Wildwood; but has been a North Cape May resident since 1961. He was a meat cutter by trade working at many locations for A&P and Superfresh Markets; but spent most of his career in the Rio Grande, North Wildwood, and Cape May Court House stores. Raymond was a Deacon and member of the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Wildwood. In his younger years, he was an avid runner and walker. He enjoyed all sports and was especially fond of the Philadelphia sports teams. Raymond is survived by his wife of 54 years Beth Forbes; his sons: Guy Forbes of North Cape May, Mark Forbes of North Cape May, and Scott (Sylvana) Forbes of Fort Belvoir, VA. Also surviving are his two grandsons: Oliver & Lucas; his two brothers: George Forbes & Howard Forbes; and his sister Elaine Quarton-Boszak. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery, 780 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ 08204. The family suggests donations in Raymond's memory to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, 2009 Bacharach Blvd, Atlantic City, NJ 08401; or the Hope Pregnancy Center, PO Box 767, Rio Grande, NJ 08242.
