Marlin M. McMaster, 83, formerly of Philadelphia, entered into eternal rest Sunday evening January 12th at Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation, Cape May Court House NJ. Born December 20, 1941 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Marlin and Marge McMaster. He served in the United States Army and worked briefly as a Philadelphia police officer. Marlin was a longtime bartender in the Wildwoods. He was employed at many establishments over the years including the Wharf, Grandes Café and the Crest Tavern. His favorite place was the Fire House Tavern where he worked and met many people over the years. He not only served them a drink but shared in their stories. They became a part of his family and he a part of theirs. Even though he relocated to Wildwood- he remained true to Philadelphia- being a huge fan of all Philly sports; especially his beloved Eagles and Phillies. He could be found riding up and down the Wildwood Boardwalk on his electric scooter. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Edward, brother Jack McMaster, and sisters Eileen Gallagher (Richie) and Donna Zarnawski. Marlin is survived by his sons Heath (Kristy Horas), Skip (Patty), Bobby (Kat) and Marlin (Ellen); grandchildren Nathan and Noah McMaster and Brianna O'Donnell; brothers Michael McMaster (Re), Billy McMaster (Melissa), Patrick Shearer and Robert Shearer (Pat); sisters Marge Boback (Bo) and Patricia Headley; sister-in-laws Shirley McMaster and Chrissy Rizzo; brother-in-laws John Wagner (Carol), Genero Gollotto and Tom Zarnawski, cousins; beloved nieces and nephews; and many friends who he considered family.
