JoAnn V. Guglielmi Obituary

JoAnn Veronica Guglielmi (Mandell), 64, passed away peacefully at home in Cape May, NJ on January 4, 2025, after returning from joyful Christmas visits with family.

A lifelong Jersey Girl, JoAnn was born in Jersey City, raised in North Bergen and attended St. John Nepomucene School and North Bergen High School.

Brave and bold, JoAnn was exactly the person you'd want by your side for an adventure, whether to check out a cool new boutique or to take a drive up a steep dirt road for a family history project.

While she had many careers in her too-short life, JoAnn's truest vocation was in caring for others. She opened her heart to many, welcoming them into her chosen family and loving them fiercely. Thoughtful and compassionate, she lived her life in service to those she loved.

She was known as Jo, JoJo, Aunt Jo, the Momma, Mrs.G, Momma G, and (her absolute favorite name) Nana.

JoAnn was a care package queen, fashion maven, endlessly creative, and had a reputation for being a "gamer-hater".

She now joins the other "flatleavers," and is likely up to no good with her brother Al or out shopping with her mom "Reenie" as spirits in the sky, whom she missed dearly.

JoAnn leaves behind her devoted husband of 40 years, Paul Guglielmi; her cherished siblings Sandra Lucci and Mark Mandell; her loving children Anthony and wife Maggie McCombs, and Jennifer Cleary and her husband Patrick; her adoring grandchildren Cordelia and Beatrice; and many others. Her absence is already profoundly felt. As her granddaughter so aptly said, "Nana is the best."

JoAnn will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

A funeral home visitation will be held Wednesday January 15 from 10am to 11am followed by a funeral service at 11am at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, N. Cape May. Burial will follow at St Mary Cemetery.

Flowers may be sent to Evoy Funeral Home or, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
