John (Jack) Joseph Day, 86, of Cape May Point, NJ, peacefully passed away on October 30, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born on November 28, 1937, in Philadelphia, PA. He was a devoted husband for almost 55 years to the late Ann Day, a loving father to John (Patricia), Linda (Steve), Carol (Chris), and adoring grandfather/great grandfather to Eileen (Bobby), Cait (Tim), Kelly (Byron), Bobby, Coleen (Jay), and Jack (Jordyn), Hailey, Casey and April. Dad was hard-working and dedicated. He spent over 40 years working for the City of Philadelphia as a Chief Court Crier where he was known for his strong work ethic and loyalty. He always made time for his family and especially enjoyed the times at the beach at his favorite place Cape May Point, fishing on his son John's boat, golfing and watching the beautiful sunsets. He will be truly missed. We find comfort in knowing that Dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, 9:00 -10:30 AM visitation followed by a mass of Christian burial at Saint Martha Church, 11301 Academy Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19154.
