James (Jim) Mohr, 75, of Villas, NJ, passed away on October 5th, 2024 in his home. Jim was born in Philadelphia to John and Agnes Mohr on September 21st, 1949, and attended high school at West Catholic High School graduating in 1968. He went on to join the Air Force in 1969 where he served a tour of duty in the Vietnam War in 1971 before being honorably discharged in 1973. Jim worked for PECO for over 30 years and spent many of those years at the Peach Bottom Nuclear Power Plant as a master welder and foreman on crews such as construction and maintenance. Over his lifetime he enjoyed a wide variety of activities such as: trap shooting, horseback riding, riding his Harley, photography, boating, fishing and above all else – reading. He was an avid reader of history and fiction and could spend hours sitting on the couch reading one novel after another. In 2014 he was elected the Commander for the Cape May VFW Lodge – a role in which he took great pride. Jim is survived by his sons Brian Mohr (Michele), Joe Mohr (Michele); daughter Jennifer Axe (Cori); grandchildren Grace Mohr, Andrew Axe, Audrey Mohr and Mohrgan Axe; siblings William Mohr (Marianne); Robert Mohr (Roe), Thomas Mohr (Diane), Clair Gray and Michael Mohr; sister-in-law Margaret Mohr, brother-in-law Warren Crossley and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents John and Agnes Mohr, grandson Michael Mohr, brother Jack Mohr, sisters Judy Jeffers, Jane Werndl, Maryann Hannah, Carol Crossley, and nephews John Hanna Jr and Patrick Gray. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Saturday, October 19th from 1-2pm at Evoy Funeral Homes, Inc. 3218 Bayshore Road North Cape May, NJ 08204.
