Obituary of Edward Richard Doering
Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edward "Rick" Doering, born June 9, 1948, in Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. He was the son of Irene "Penny" Doering and Edward Doering, and is remembered for his vibrant spirit and love of life. He was a graduate of Frankford High School and Stockton University, as well as a Navy veteran.
Rick had a profound passion for the outdoors, relishing in fishing, rollerblading, and driving on the beach during the off-season. He was an avid soccer enthusiast, a dedicated teacher, and a talented photographer who captured the beauty of the world around him. His love for music brought joy to many, and he cherished his visits to Longwood Gardens.
He is survived by his beloved partner, Kelli Westerman; his sister, Linda Doering; and his stepchildren, Matt Delaney (spouse Lauren DeLucca Carey) and Alison Gontowski (spouse Rachel Gontowski).
In honor of Rick's memory, donations can be made to The George's Angels Fund. The George's Angels fund is dedicated to a tribute concert and helps us raise the monies needed for additional musicians, related expenses and original orchestrations for our annual Music Festival tribute to George Mesterhazy.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In remembering Rick, let us celebrate his zest for life, his love for family, and the beauty he found in everyday moments.
