James M. Cochrane Sr. of North Cape May, NJ formerly of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 4th, 2024 with his devoted wife Shelley by his side.

"Captain Jim" of the Fish Hawk was an icon of the South Jersey fishing community. He began his love of the sport at an incredibly early age owning his own boat at the age of twelve. He was an expert angler claiming many championships and honors. There was no place in the world he would rather have been than on one of his three vessels fishing, teaching others and just being on the open water. The Breezy Lee Marina was his second home.
Jim was preceded in death by his father James Cochrane, his mother Jean and brother John. He is survived by his wife Shelley.
The internment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a Celebration of Life for Jim on Sept. 30th from 1-4pm at the Villas Fishing Club in Villas, NJ.
