Obituary of Michele A. Matteo

Michele A. Matteo (Ferguson), age 69, of North Cape May passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024. Born in Bristol, PA and formerly of North Wildwood. Michele was a jack of all trades, ranging in cooking, gardening and being an advocate for her friends and, most importantly, her children. She was a long time employee of Lowe's Home Improvement, where she loved to talk to and help customers, especially with gardening needs. Michele was formerly a part of the North Wildwood Fire Company #1 Ladies Auxiliary. Michele was a devout mother and Gam to her children and grandbabies, as they were her pride and joy. She is predeceased by her husband John Matteo, her sister Sara Ferguson and brother Fred Ferguson. Michele is survived by her sons: Matthew Ferguson of N. Cape May, John (Victoria) Matteo of Harrogate, TN, her daughter Lauren Matteo (Matthew Spisak) of Vineland, her niece Samantha Ferguson of N. Cape May, her nephew Jonathan Ferguson and her two grandchildren Abigail Rose Spisak and John Nicholas Matteo. Also surviving are: her sister Marcella Jane Kohl (Peter McLean) of Langhorne, PA, her brother Malcom (Judy) Ferguson of Smyrna, TN, her Mother-in-law Rita Matteo and many nieces and nephews. There will be a funeral service where friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with a service to follow at 2:00 PM, on Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michele's memory can be made to the Able Acres Farm at 240 Rt 50 Woodbine, NJ 08270.
