Obituary of Glenfield W. Knight Sr.

Glenfield W. Knight, Sr., 85, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 22 at his residence in West Cape May with his son by his side. Born October 16, 1938 in Camden NJ, he was the son of the late William Leroy and Octavia Knight. He was graduate of Shaw University, Raleigh NC, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in physical education and played on the football team. He was on the Giants' taxi squad in 1961 and with the Jets. After his stint in the NFL he went on to serve as the Regional Director of Alcohol and Alcohol Abuse for the State of New York. He enjoyed all sports including bowling and in his spare time enjoyed fishing and gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife the late Mary Elizabeth (nee Murray) Knight (November 24, 2000); a brother John Thomas Knight, Sr. and a sister Shirley Moore. Glen is survived by his son Glenfield W. Knight, Jr.; nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Wednesday, May 29th from 10-11AM at Macedonia Baptist Church 630 Lafayette Street Cape May NJ 08204. Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11AM at the Macedonia Baptist Church. Interment will follow on the grounds of Cold Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
