Obituary of Robert R. Welsh
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On March 12, 2024, Bob "Pop-Pop" Welsh departed this earth for the greatest fishing trip of a lifetime in heaven; endless blue waters, everlasting peace, and a cold one always waiting.
In his 88 years, Pop-Pop accomplished a great deal and truly believed you could accomplish anything you set your mind to. Something broken? "Oh, that's an easy fix". Want to build a deck? "Consider it done". Need to find the best ice cream spot? He had at least three in mind.
Pop-Pop served his country from 1953 to 1956 as a paratrooper in the Army Airborne Division. After his military term, he started his career as a linesman with Bell Telephone in Philadelphia and worked his way up to management, retiring from that company after a 40-year career. That wasn't enough for him, so in true Pop-Pop fashion, he started his own communications company which he owned and operated for many years.
With a warm personality, almost anything put a smile on Pop-Pop's face. Spending time with good friends & family, fishing and boating, attending any and all of his grandchildren's sporting events, and his beloved Disney trips with the gang were at the top of his list.
Pop-Pop is survived by his wife, June, of 68 years; his daughter, Evelyn; and his three grandchildren, Chris, Lauren, and Rachel.
Pop-Pop, you are sorely missed each and every day, but we know you are fishing in the oceans of heaven, and we take comfort in that. Thank you for leaving us with wonderful memories. We love you.
