Joan M Cox Obituary

Joan "Joni" Marie Cox passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 19, 2024. Born and raised in Massachusetts, Joni was the daughter of the late Frank and Nelly Frade. She met her husband Ronald E Cox Sr while he was stationed in Provincetown with the US Coast Guard in 1957. They were married in 1958 and had six children, sons Michael, Robert, Ronald Jr, David, Stephen, and daughter Donna. The family moved to New Jersey when Ronald was transferred to TRACEN Cape May in May 1973 and has remained there ever since.

After raising her family, Joni went on to work for Murphy's Mart, Waste Management, Morey's Piers, Uniquely Yours, and Lowe's. She was also involved in the VFW Auxiliary at Cape May Post 386 for many years, serving as the secretary and treasurer. In her spare time, Joni enjoyed reading a good book, bowling, knitting, spending time with her friends and family, and watching the ferries pass by while sitting at Douglass Park in North Cape May.

In addition to her parents, Joni is predeceased by her brother Jerry Amado, husband Ronald, and sons Michael and Ronald Jr. She is dearly missed and forever loved by her sons Robert, David (Terri), Stephen (Lisa), daughter Donna Halbruner, 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Carol Ann Amado, numerous nieces and nephews, and her many friends at Yorkshire Place.
