Roger William Smith Obituary

Roger William Smith, 69, passed away on February 16, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. He was still strong as a bull to the very end. Roger was born in Villas, NJ on September 12, 1954 and was a lifelong resident of Cape May County. He attended Lower Cape May Regional High School and was the owner/operator of RW Smith Well Drilling in Erma, NJ. Roger is survived by his wife Barbara and his children Jennifer ( Steve) Shearer, Aimee Smith, Tara (Deano) Demento, and Lindsey (Matt) Trout, his grandchildren Tyanna and Tyjuan Seney, Peyton Demento, Mattalyn Trout and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind the only other male in the family, his trusted beagle companion, Roscoe. Roger was preceded in death by his father and mother Vincent & Martha Smith, brothers Vincent W. Smith, Fred Smith, Robert C. Smith and sister , Patricia McElfresh. When not working, which was not often, he enjoyed spending time at his farm in Potter County , PA. He also enjoyed hunting, classic cars, corvettes and Harleys. A graveside service will be held on Monday February 26, 2024 at 11am at the Cold Spring Cemetery.
