_________________________________________________________________________ Richard M. "Dick" Graupner was born in 1931 and lived on North 18th Street in Philadelphia, PA. The son of Frederick C. and Stella (Held), Dick had a lifelong love of learning, history and baseball. A proud graduate of St. Joseph's Preparatory HS (Class of 1949) and the University of Pennsylvania, Dick was also a U.S. Navy Veteran. He went on to become a sales manager for many companies that took him to New York City, Detroit and Chicago. While in Chicago he met and married the love of his life Jane Grant. Dick and Jane eventually moved back to the Philadelphia area and then to Cape May NJ where he retired and together spent many happy years living by the sea. When able he walked the Promenade daily, logging 1000 miles some years no matter the weather. Recently Dick had moved to Cape May Court House to live at Brookdale Senior Living Facility, where e was very well taken care of. In his last days, Serenity Hospice was also there to take good care of him. Dick was the Life of the Party, frequently organizing sports betting pools, Prep meet-ups and annual trips to Clearwater, FL to watch his beloved Phillies at Spring Training. His enthusiasm for all topics and the people he loved will truly be missed. He is survived by a niece, Melissa Barnes and husband Ed and their family Nell Nutaitis (Matt), Bridget Barnes (Stephen Fugate) and Peter Barnes (Monica) Also by step-daughter Dorothy Delaquila and husband Robert and their sons Grant and Evan. A memorial is planned for the future but in the meantime, everyone is encouraged to visit Dick & Jane's Spot on their memorial bench on the Promenade. Enjoy the view
