Jorge L. Torres, 52, Rio Grande, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 27 at Complete Care Court House where he had been a guest for one day.

Born January 2, 1971 in Caguas, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Idalia Mauras and the late Jorge L. Torres.

Jorge loved to watch TV with his wife Maria. He also enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons. A true bibliophile, Jorge was a collector of books and loved to read.

Jorge will forever be missed by the love of his life Maria Smolic. He and Maria were together for thirty years but recently became husband and wife September 29, 2023.

In addition to Maria, he is survived by his mother Idalia (Mauras) Torres, sisters Anmarie Abbatiello wife of Louis and Idalys Coleman wife of Jay; brother Benjamin Torres husband of Tina; nieces Karlie Paoletti wife of Dominick and Giana Torres; nephews Benjamin Aaron Torres, Jay Coleman, Javi Coleman, Joel Coleman, Jouan Coleman, Joshua Coleman and Louis Abbatiello.

Funeral Services and Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Evoy Funeral Home 3218 Bayshore Road has been entrusted with arrangements.
