Pearl F. Connelly, 94, of Villas, NJ passed away at her home on December 21, 2023. Pearl was originally from Conshohocken, PA and graduated from Conshohocken High School. She worked for Victory Metals as a bookkeeper for a number of years.

Pearl first came to Villas, NJ with her parents when she was a young girl, vacationing in the same house she has called home for many years since her retirement. Every bird and squirrel in the area frequented her yard as there was always plenty of birdseed and peanuts waiting for them.

Pearl was a proud member of the DAV Chapter 44 in Del Haven, VFW Post 5343 in Villas, Greater Cape May Elks in Villas, and Stella Maris Home Association in Erma. She spent many "happy hours" at each of these clubs with so very many friends over her years here at the shore. Pearl always had a quick, funny comment ready to make everyone laugh. When asked if she came in to play bingo, she would reply "Hell no, I didn't come to play bingo, I came to drink!" In reply to being asked if she wanted another drink, she would say "Sure, can't fly on one wing!"

Four days short of her 95th birthday when she died, Pearl always said she would never wish a Christmas birthday on anyone. Growing up as an only child, she wished her birthday would have been on any other day of the year!

Pearl was predeceased by her parents, William H. and Pearl Hyde, her husband, William F. Connelly, many friends and relatives and her precious dog, Muffin.

She is survived by her devoted friend, Karen Russo. Her Step-son, William J. Connelly, Step-granddaughter, Kelly L. Moore, and Step-grandson, William M. Connelly all of Florida and many other friends who will miss her dearly.

Pearl was very lucky to have been looked after, for the last two years, by her wonderful caregiver from Visiting Angels, Ellen Owusu. She provided round the clock care and companionship and was an absolute joy to have with us. For the last two months we were fortunate to have the extra care provided by Holy Redeemer Hospice. Many thanks go to Kennedy, Meghan and Connie who were there in our greatest time of need.

The service for Pearl will be held at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, NJ 08204 on Friday, December 29th. The viewing will be from 10:00-11:00, with the funeral service starting at 11:00 am. Burial will be at a later date at the Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler, PA where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved parents.
