Obituary of Raymond A. Mellor Jr.

Raymond A. Mellor Jr. age 75 of Villas, NJ went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. He was born in South Philly but couldn't resist the pull to the shore and became a permanent resident of the Villas in his teen years. Ray served a year in the US Army in the 687th Land Clearing Unit and never forgot a single moment of the year he served in Vietnam. After coming home, Ray eventually worked for the County of Cape May and retired after 25 years with them. Ray was a loving and devoted husband, father and pop-pop to four children and three grandchildren. He taught his children everything they know. Ray was an avid Eagles fan but he did tolerate those who did not share his passion for his team. Ray was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Josephine. He is survived by his loving wife, Annmarie, his daughters, Josephine Gilbert (Barry), Jennifer Reichle (Robert Ferguson), Katie Mellor; his son Raymond III; his grandchildren, Samantha Gilbert, Eva Reichle and Wayne Reichle; his sister, Joan Wenri (Ted); his nephew Ted Wenri and his family and his loyal canine companion, Moca. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 20, 2023 at St. John Neumann Parish/ St. Raymond Church, Bayshore Road and Ocean Avenue, Villas, NJ where relatives and friends may visit from 10:00-11:00 AM.
