Lorraine Hope Kelly, 79, lifelong resident of Erma, entered into eternal rest Monday, October 30th at Cape Regional Medical center, Cape May Court House.

She was born February 5, 1944 to the late Lionel and Isabella (Chester) Thompson.

She attended Lower Cape Regional Schools and eventually met Joseph Thomas Kelly. The two began dating and married in 1963 and started their family soon after. She stayed home to raise her children and when they were grown, she began her career as a kitchen prep having worked for the former Axelsson's Blue Claw Restaurant in Cape May.

Lorraine had a creative and artistic side. She loved to craft, make floral arrangements and was known by her family as the Queen of sewing. She loved to discover new recipes, often time not putting them to use but making sure to save them. Back in her day she would be outside tending to her garden and always took great pride in the beauty of the flowers that she grew. She was also known for her love of all of the holidays; she had decorations for each one no matter how big or small. If there was a Holiday- Lorraine had a decoration for it.

Preceding Lorraine in death are her husband the late Joseph Thomas Kelly, Jr.; daughter Darleen Kelly, brothers Richard and Robert Thompson, brother- in-law Richard Hill, and a grandson Eric Kelly.

Lorraine's legacy will forever live on in her children Carol (Scott) Webster, Joseph (Tracey) Kelly, Michael Kelly and Lori Kelly (John Stewart); grandchildren Jennifer (Mark) Higginbottom, Kristy (Peter) Barto, Joseph Kelly IV, Matthew Kelly, Brandon Anderson, Michael Kelly Jr, Robert Joseph Kelly, Sean Kelly, Rebecca Jorgenson, John Stewart IV, and Alexis Stewart. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, sister Isabella Hill, many nieces and nephews and many friends whom she loved like family.

Funeral Services will be held 11AM Tuesday, November 7 at Evoy Funeral Home 3218 Bayshore Road North Cape May. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 10AM until the time of the service. Deacon David O'Connor will be officiating. Interment will be held on the grounds of the Tabernacle UM Cemetery, Erma.
