Josephine Ignatovic (Malizzia) age 80 of Philadelphia, PA sadly passed away at her daughter's home on September 15, 2023 with her loving granddaughter and daughter by her side. She was the beloved wife of 59 years to Barry Ignatovic. Josephine was second of three children born in Philadelphia to Joseph and Catherine Malizzia.
Josephine was a life long resident of Philadelphia and was a proud graduate of Little Flower High School. For the majority of her adult life, she worked for medicals records at Germantown Hospital which became Einstein Medical Center from which she retired from. She had many coworkers that kept in contact with who were considered to be her family and helped her with appointments and shopping. Josephine was a lover of animals and always donated to the animal shelters. Josephine was truly loved by all and always brought a smile to everyone's face. She adored and loved her family so much. Always wanting to feed them and blow them kisses every time they left or hung up the phone.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Catherine Malizzzia; her husband Barry Ignatovic and a sister Jeane Calabrese (John)
She is survived by her daughter Catherine Dunleavy (Glen) and will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Joseph Ignatovic (Kristie), Mary Dunleavy (Wilson); brother Joseph Malizzia (Lois) and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, coworkers and neighbors.
When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure and they do not leave us; they walk along side of us every day. Unseen, unheard but always near. Josephine was our treasure.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday October 24, 2023 at St. William Roman Catholic Church 6200 Rising Sun Ave. Philadelphia PA. Interment will follow at Noon on the grounds of Sunset Memorial Park.
