Obituary of Philip Boyd Jr.

Philip H. Boyd, Jr., 89, Villas, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 26 at Cape Regional Medical Center, Cape May Court House. Born January 14, 1934 in Philadelphia, he was the son of Philip H. and Mary E. Boyd, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Donna Schaffer and a granddaughter Christine. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. After retiring from the Philadelphia Police Department, he worked at Fare Free Transportation in Cape May County. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW), the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and the Masonic Lodge of Cape May. Philip is survived by his children Philip H. Boyd III and Patricia Smith; grandchildren Chelsea, Billy, Samantha, Victoria, Bobby, Zachary and Liam; brothers John and Michael Boyd; sisters Dorothy Rosansky and Patty Baxter. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, September 26 at 11 AM on the grounds of Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery.
