Obituary of James Leon Perloff

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James L. Perloff, (Jim) passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Temple Hospital, in Philadelphia, PA. He was 71 years old. Residing in West Wildwood, NJ, Jim was a cherished husband, father, and doting PopPop to his grandchildren. Jim's life was filled with love, laughter and exciting adventures. He deeply loved his wife Lori J. (Davis) Perloff. Took pride in being a father to his daughter Christina Tercha (Don) and son James (Jimmy). His affection for his grandchildren Rachel and Jacob Tercha knew no bounds. He often reflected on the time his first grandchild uttered the words, "I hold you PopPop". Kind and warm hearted by nature, Jim had strong bonds with his nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews as well as great-great nieces/nephews. He had an ability to make everyone feel loved and valued while leaving an impact on their lives. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Leon and Rita (Bryson) Perloff; son James L. Perloff Jr.; brothers Stephen and Michael; and nephew Michael Perloff. Throughout his life journey, Jim embraced every moment with enthusiasm. He possessed a thirst for exploration, which he satisfied by traveling alongside his beloved wife, Lori, and their close group of friends. From the shores of Florida to various vacation destinations, he carried his zest for life wherever he went, creating memories that will forever be cherished. Jim was a man of the sea, finding solace and excitement in boating, scuba diving, and fishing. His heart beat to the rhythm of the ocean. He particularly loved participating in Shark Tournaments. As an entrepreneur at heart, his desk was a reflection of organized chaos that showcased his creativity and ambition. His friendships were like the ebb and flow of tides – steadfast and unwavering. Jim was surrounded by a community of friends and amazing neighbors who shared in his laughter, supported him through thick and thin and brought joy into his life. His sense of humor was a guiding light, even in the face of illness, showing his remarkable strength and resilience. Jim's love for life extended to simple pleasures as well. He cherished living close to the beach and taking long walks while breathing in the salt air. These moments allowed him to reflect on the beauty of life and the meaningful connections he held dear. A memorial service to honor Jim's life will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at North Wildwood UMC, 2nd & Central Avenues, North Wildwood, NJ. Visitation -10:30am Service -11:00am In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to: GIFT OF LIFE HOWIE'S HOUSE, located at 401 Callowhill Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
