Obituary of Alex John Bender
Please share a memory of Alex to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Alex John Bender, Lower Township, passed away Saturday August 26, 2023. He is survived by the three people he loved the most, his mother Kasey and sister Meredith, and Ernie his dad.
If you knew Alex, you loved him, and those that loved him loved him hard. He left us far too soon and will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
A family friend once referred to Alex as a "Renaissance Man "because of his adventurous lifestyle and spirit. In his youth, he loved to play hockey, played a little baseball, golfed and surfed. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed cruising on the back bays and drinking "Banquies" with the boys, but what he loved the most was riding his Harley.
As a young adult Alex enjoyed many diverse experiences. He was a mechanic, carpenter, landscaper, welder and most recently a commercial fisherman.
Alex enjoyed life to its fullest. He loved his family and friends unconditionally. He was funny, carefree, cavalier and had a heart of gold. He was the first one to answer the phone if you called.
He will never be forgotten as he touched the lives of so many people.
He truly was a "Renaissance Man".
A church service will be held in Alex's honor on Sunday, September 10, at St. Barnabas by the bay, 13 W. Bates Ave in Villas, NJ at 11am.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Evoy Funeral Home 3218 Bayshore Road North Cape May NJ 08204. Please visit EvoyFuneralHome.com to share a memory of Alex.
