Obituary of Donald Read

Donald W. Read, 74, of North Cape May, sadly passed on July 26, 2023. Born July 12, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of Maryjane Read Shaloo and the late William Read. He was raised in Philadelphia. Donald was a proud iron worker for Local 401 in Philadelphia, lived in both Parish, FL and Wilmington, DE, where he trained Trotter Race horses for a number of years. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Pamela, and their 5 children: Jennifer (Michael) Farra, Dawn (Chris) Cosentino, Brad Tornetta, Kelly Read, and Denise Indegelio. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren: Justin, Eric, Justin, Samantha, Emily, Bella, Michael, Talia and Mina. He is also survived by his mother, Maryjane Shaloo, his sister Denice Osborne and nephew Michael Osborne. Donald loved the beach, boogie-boarding, making friends anywhere and everywhere he went, and walking his dog, his greatest friend, Rudy. He will be deeply missed by his community and those that knew him. The family will be celebrating his life privately and his internment will also be at their convenience.
