Carl Cruz, age 47, of Villas passed away Friday, February 14, 2014. Carl was born April 29, 1966 in Warwick, RI; formerly lived in Salem, NJ; and has been a Cape May area resident for 30 years. He is the son of Carmelo and Lady G (Ruiz) Cruz. Carl was a self employed contractor and owner of Cruz Enterprises of Villas, NJ. He was a social member of the Cape May VFW and enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle. Carl is survived by his parents and his four children; Christopher, Desteny, Athena, & Summer Cruz all of Villas, NJ. Also surviving are his sisters: Shirley Cruz of Cape May County; Sharon Landron of Ft Lauderdale, FL; Lady Cruz-Good of Yorktown, VA; Shila Treadwell of Norfolk, VA; three grandchildren: Caden Britton, David Collins, & Weslie Stone; along with many nieces & nephews. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 Am on Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St Mary's Cemetery, 1056 Seashore Rd, Cold Spring, NJ 08204. The family suggests donations to the Education Fund of Summer Lynn Cruz, 123 Broadway, Villas, NJ 08251.
