Katheryn "Kashie" Boyd Obituary

Kashie (Katheryn Orzel) Boyd was a caring wife, mother, Oma, sister and friend. She went to

her heavenly home on July 13, 2023.

Kashie grew up in North Haledon with her siblings John, Angela, Gregory and Gabriella. After

high school, she attended St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Paterson, NJ. She met her

husband, Douglas Boyd, while working at St. Joseph Hospital as an RN. They raised their two

boys, Chris and Steve in Lafayette, NJ. After nursing, she and Doug became sponsors with

SCARC (Sussex County Association for Retarded Citizens) and embarked on entrepreneurial

adventures with stores, Rhapsody in Blue/Curtain Call, The Village Eatery and Kashie's Kitchen

in Lafayette and Newton, NJ.

In 1999, they moved to Carmel, NY to minister at Camp Hope, Camp Joy with Kashie serving as head cook. Kashie's favorite place to be was the kitchen. She was well known by friends and family for her cooking and baking.

In 2008, they moved to Villas, NJ where she served Cape Christian Academy in fundraising.

In retirement, Kashie continued to feed anyone and everyone she could. She spent much of her time volunteering and was dedicated to supporting missions.

Kashie is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Doug; Sons, Christopher and his partner Chrissy Cammarrano of Villas, NJ, Stephen and his wife Amy of Sussex, NJ. She was the proud Oma of Cadence, Summer, Dhane and Judson Boyd, also of Sussex and Luna Coverdale of Villas.

A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 11am at Good Samaritan Baptist Church, 307 Town Bank Rd, Cape May, NJ 08204.
