John F. Marshall, age 76 of Rio Grande passed away on Tuesday March 14, 2023 suddenly at his home. He was born in Philadelphia and resided in the Philadelphia area for many years before coming to the Cape May area 12 years ago. John graduated from Father Judge High School and served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a mounted police officer for the Philadelphia Police Department .for 24 years. He was a member of the FOP in Philadelphia Lodge #5. John later worked in security at Seapointe Village in Diamond Beach. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, going to the beach and going on cruises. John was preceded in death by his parents Dorman "Bud" and Agnes Marshall; a son Sean Marshall. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Dorothy M. Marshall; sons, Jeff (Rebecca) Schweikert and Steven (Therese) Schweikert; grandchildren, Tyler Leighanna, Sophia, Janson and Hunter. He also leaves his beloved dog Gigi A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Notre Dame de la Mer Parish/ St. Ann Church, 2901 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood, NJ. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM at the church. Condolences will be received at www.EvoyFuneralHome.com
