Obituary of Douglas Nelson Canova Sr.

Douglas N. Canova Sr. "Bubba" "Pops", age 72 of Villas passed away on March 3, 2023 at his home. He was born in St. Augustine, FL. Doug retired as the captain of the fishing vessel "Enterprise". after 55 years on the ocean. He spent most of his life at sea doing what he loved. Doug was an avid hunter having traveled to Maine, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. Doug loved spending time with his family and was a great Dad and Pops. Doug was loved by all who had the honor of knowing him and he will be greatly missed. He was also very fond of all the many felines who often found their way to his lap. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Bonnie Canova; sons Frank Wise (Christine), Doug Canova Jr. (Nicole); grandchildren, Wesley Wise and Kaitlin and Zachary Canova; brother Earl Canova (Laura); several nieces and nephews; best friend Mike Loper and beloved friend and caretaker Rosa Bonney.
