Obituary of Elaine Ann McDermott

Elaine Ann McDermott, 83, Villas, entered into eternal rest Sunday February 5 with her daughter by her side. Born November 29, 1939 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Magdelina (Stebelski) Hollander. Elaine grew up in Philadelphia and graduated from Hallahan High School. She met the love of her life the late John J. McDermott and the eventually moved to Cape May County in 1988. They enjoyed playing shuffle board and frequenting the Villas Fishing Club. She worked at the Lower Twp. Rec Center for over 20 years. She could often be found on the Boardwalk in Wildwood and trying her luck at one of the many games of chance hoping to win a stuffed animal to add to her collection that she would share with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting the zoos especially the Cape May County Zoo. She had a love for all animals. She looked forward to her yearly retreats to Florida to visit with her family to her daughter Karen's home. Elaine will forever be missed by her daughters Teresa Villamor wife of Christopher, Karen McDermott wife of Scott Balsam; grandchildren Gabriella Balsam, John Mornoney husband of Dara, Ryan Moroney, Joseph Balsalm, Thomas Walker, Kyle Villamor husband of Jessica, and Amanda Villamor; great grandchildren Wyatt and Eli Villamor and Aria Elaine Moroney; sister Jane Schettino and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Evoy Funeral Home 3218 Bayshore Road North Cape May NJ 08204. A Memorial Service will be announced in the near future.
