there was a flood in 1985 in Cape May.Freds basement sunk some 6 feet. i assisted in his claim and he asked me to help him evaluate the damage to the city as he was city manager in cape may. I took note how very intelligent he was yet sought to gather any information from any source.i had experience with poliyics but Fred was the Master. His style and knowledge just made anyone a "follower;. His incredible "careers"speak to the genius of the man .

I am saddened to read of Freds passing. I spoke with him about a month ago about the ferry. My dad used to speak highly of him. I think he was dads campaign chairman at one time.

In the 1970's, Fred took me under his wing. I pray that I am still there. He became the big brother I never had. He was smarter, stronger, and faster, but striving to compete with him was a good thing. Rest in peace big brother. It was an honor to run the race with you.

Fred Coldren will always have a special place in the hearts of many. He was the most pleasant person to walk the streets of Cape May offering assistance and support to many.I spent many hours talking to him as I developed my business in Cape May in 1983. He may be gone but he will never be forgotten. He was such a good man and a mentor to many. RIP Fred who lived in Frog Hollow and painted a frog on his house. We all so miss your smile and wisdom. Many HUGS to Diane and your family.

Cape May without Fred Coldren doesn't seem possible. The city would be a different place if he had not dedicated so many years of his life to the well being of our town and its' people. I shall remember him for his intelligence and pleasant demeanor, and personally for his gracious empathy.

Dear Diane & Family:
We were so distressed to hear of Fred's passing. He was way to vital and young. I don't need to tell you how kind and generous he was to our family over many, many decades. Fred's genorosity and enthusiasm is most apparent in his taking the time to share his many personal stories on my father-in-law and the Washington times with my son as he works on his PHd. These stories would have been lost if not for the time Fred took with Patrick. You will be in our thoughts and prayers at what we know is a very difficult time for you all.

WE COMMUNICATED VIA EMAIL OCCASIONALLY. NOW, I WILL SO MISS NOT 'SPEAKING' WITH HIM. HE WAS SUCH A GOOD, GENEROUS AND A KIND MAN. PATTIE
