Obituary of Staretta Smith

Please share a memory of Staretta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Staretta Smith, 54, sadly departed this earthly world Wednesday, December 28 as a result of the injuries she sustained from an accident. Born December 20, 1968 in Atlantic City, she was the daughter of Eleanor McCray and the late Herman Cuttino (1973). She was a 1987 graduate of Middle Township High School and worked as a Cottage Training Supervisor for Woodbine Developmental Center, Woodbine. Just like her name, Star lit up any room she walked into. Her main goal in life was to make other people happy. She was able to do this in her everyday life just by doing little things. Whether she was cooking, decorating, spending time with family and friends, or hosting "Stars Annual Tea Party" she was truly shining bright. Some often said everything she touched turned to gold. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother Roosevelt Hart. Star will be forever missed by her mother Eleanor; daughter Shahnika Smith; son Antonio Shockley; grandchildren Yasmin Smith, Zon'ae and Noah Williams; siblings Annette McCray and Carrie Jones; children Kristy Kelley, Christopher Kelley, George Kelley, Shawna Kelley, Marcus Kelley and Tyrel Kelley and their children; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by so many friends who she loved as family. A Celebration of Stra's Life will be held Saturday, January 7th from 1PM t 430PM at the Martin Luther King Center 207 West Main Street Whitesboro NJ. Evoy Funeral Home 3218 Bayshore Road has been entrusted with arrangements.
