Obituary of Sandra H. Weeks

Weeks, Sandra Hess (Sandi) - 78 of Cape May, NJ, passed away peacefully at her Cape May home on Thursday December 15, 2022. Sandra was born in Philadelphia PA on September 18, 1944, to Sidney and Dorothy Hess. Sandi was a larger than life personality that never let grass grow under her feet. Her life was filled with adventure. Even though an only child, she had a large family which included many friends. Sandi was a consummate educator. She taught for over 25 years at Lower Township Elementary School District as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher where she touched the lives of many children and co-workers; she was the favorite teacher of many of her students. Her teaching family was dear to her and she remained close to them even through her retirement. As a teacher, Sandi always shared her love of Broadway musicals, which translated into her directing and producing professional-quality school plays. Her productions of Annie, Oliver and The Wizard of Oz contributed significantly to the Lower Township Schools' Philanthropic Fund over the course of 25 years. Sandi's devotion to her family, especially her grandchildren, was legendary; they refer to her house as "The Land of Yes". She never missed a match, game, recital or show no matter how far from home. Sandi is survived by her husband John (Jack), daughters Kelli and Sydney, son-in-law Mark, and grandchildren Jackson and Madison. Viewing will be held Tuesday December 20th 10am-11am at Evoy Funeral Home and burial will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery. She will be deeply missed each and every day by anyone lucky enough to have had her as the wind beneath their wings.
