Obituary of Robert R. Conant
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Richard Conant, 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on the morning of Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Rob was born in Giessen, Germany and spent the majority of his youth as the fourth of nine children in Pearl River, New York. In high school, he was a fierce competitor on the wrestling mat and a proud purveyor of hijinks, his motto being, "They can't suspend all of us." Later, he became the most well-respected, admired, and sought-after childcare and social services professional working with disadvantaged young children, teens, and older adults at St. Dominick's, St. Agnes, and other group homes. He was a consummate history buff, an extraordinarily talented photographer, and an even more gifted storyteller. His sense of humor knew no bounds, and he could hold a captive audience with his anecdotes like no other. He was the most loyal of friends and kind to all, even with whomever he might disagree. In his eyes, everyone was equal, regardless of education or background. He was humble, reliable, trustworthy, kind, and generous. Rob was predeceased by mother Claire, father Perry, and brothers John and Richard, and he is survived by his brothers Jim, Joe, Ray, Roger, and George, his sister Mary, and countless family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 11:30am-2pm at The Nyack Center, 53 Depew Ave, Nyack, NY. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or simply crack a joke to make someone smile. Condolences may be shared at www.evoyfuneralhome.com.
