James "Jim/Jimmy" W. Gavin, 86 of Seminole FL, passed peacefully on June14th with his loving family by his side.
Jim was born in Philadelphia (The Meadows) to Ruth and William Gavin. He was a 1954 graduate of West Catholic High School and was a founding father of St. Irenaeus CYO in 1971. Jim was retired from TWA, but always enjoyed staying busy and never really retired. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and all Philadelphia sports, Go Birds!
Preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Rosemarie Gavin and his wife of 14 years, Elizabeth Gavin. Also preceded by son, James Gavin.
Jim is survived by his daughter-in-law Carolyn Gavin, son Thomas and wife Lena Gavin, stepson Michael and wife Paula Burton, stepdaughter Marie and husband Thomas Knowland, and stepdaughter Bettina and husband John Bellin.
Grandchildren Lauren Driscoll, James Gavin 111, Rosemarie Gavin, Anna Gavin and step grandchildren Bryan Burton, Timothy Burton, James Burton, Christiana Vrba, Alyssa & William Bellin. Along with 9 great-grandchildren.
Those wishing to honor Jimmy, can share online with their condolences and memories. Graveside services will be held 1PM Saturday, September 10 at St. Mary's Cemetery Cape May, NJ.
