Obituary of Dolores M. Shaw

____________________________________________________________________________ Dolores Shaw, 83, of Villas, New Jersey died peacefully in her sleep on May 26, 2022. Dolores was a Diploma RN from New York who dedicated a career in healthcare for 40 years. Her compassion radiated a light of love and kindness to anyone in her path of life and career. She had a knack for cooking anything from scratch or taking a recipe and putting her own twist on it. Dolores never failed to fill our stomachs with the love she placed in the food she shared. After she retired in 2000 Dolores and her family relocated to Cape May, New Jersey. During her retirement Dolores and her husband George "Poppy" played an integral role in bringing up their granddaughter Sara. "Nanny" as she was affectionately called would be present for many of Sara's sport events and school functions. In her spare time she would go to the local gym with her girlfriends "Paula & Irene" then off to the local Dunkin Donuts to "hang with the guys" for coffee. She was known to check on her family and many nieces and nephews with a quick phone call. Nanny could talk to anyone, make them feel welcome and important in an instance. A Visitation with the family will be held at Evoy Funeral Home , 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, New Jersey on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from 10am to 11 am and will be followed by a Memorial Service at 11 am.. She is survived by a daughter Tara Shaw and her beloved granddaughter, Sara Damiana, her sisters, Rebecca D'Amico and Madeline Silvestro, and many nephews & nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband George Patrick Shaw, her brothers, Anthony Mariani, Alfred Mariani, Albert Mariani, & Joseph Mariani.
