Obituary of Raymond R Orr

Orr, Raymond R., age 73 of Cape May, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022. Raymond was born in Philadelphia to the late Raymond O. and Mary Orr, and grew up in Blackwood, NJ. In his adulthood, he worked for the Philadelphia Inquirer and eventually moved to Cape May in 1998. Raymond was a man of strong faith who loved the Lord and attended First Assembly of God Church in West Cape May with his wife Rita until she passed away in 2019. He was a loving husband and one of the kindest men you would ever want to meet. Raymond is predeceased by his parents Raymond and Mary, and his wife Rita. Surviving are his stepchildren Rita (Dennis) Wright, Frances Beck and Denise Brown, 7 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, sisters Maryanne McDermott and Donna (Salvatore) Mandracchia, and nephews Patrick McDermott and Kevin McDermott. A funeral service for Raymond will be held at 11am on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., N Cape May, NJ; a viewing will be held prior to service from 10am – 11am. Burial will follow service at Cold Spring Cemetery, 780 Seashore Rd., Cape May.
