Gannone, John A., age 73 of Villas, passed away at home on Monday, February 28, 2022. Born in and formerly of Philadelphia, John worked for the Philadelphia Fire Department for 26 years before retiring in 1993. While with the Philadelphia Fire Department, he was a member of the first hazmat unit. He went on to work for the State of NJ, Dept of Community Affairs for another 20 years. John was a member of the Elks Club and Sons of Italy in Villas, and St. John Neumann Parish. He enjoyed golf, cigars, and drinking Manhattan's. John is predeceased by his parents John and Rose Gannone. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rosemary, daughter Gina Gannone (Thomas), son John A. Jr. (Aimee Davis), grandchildren Rocco Santaguida, and Audrey and Ryan Kurtyan, and brother Robert (Bonita) Gannone, niece Christina Grimm and nephew Robert Gannone Jr. A funeral service for John is scheduled for 11am on Saturday, March 5th at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., N Cape May; visitation hour will be immediately prior to service from 10-11am. Interment will be privately held.
