Steven D Lafferty, age 59, of Rio Grande passed away peacefully at his home; when found by family members on Sunday, December 15, 2013. Steven was a life-long resident of Cape May County, born May 24, 1954 as the son of Boyd M. Lafferty and Lucille Nye Lafferty. A graduate of Cape May Elementary and Lower Cape May Regional High Schools, Steve worked for 25 years as a Toll Collector for the Cape May-Lewes Ferry; retiring with honors in 2007. He was married in 2005 to Barbara N. Taylor Keene Lafferty, who passed away in 2012. Steve was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1051 of Lower Township and a member of the Elks Lodge 2839 of Greater Cape May. He is survived by his sister Diane Lafferty Coldren (Fred) of Cape May, his brother Boyd J. Lafferty (Marilyn) of Villas, two nieces and two nephews and their eight children.
