Joseph Somma, age 101 of N. Cape May passed away on January 10, 2022 at the Pelican Point Rehabilitation. He was born in East Orange, NJ, formerly lived in West Orange, NJ where he was a member of Our Lady of Lords RC Church, and has been a Cape May Co. resident since 2016. He served his country in the US Coast Guard during WW II as a combat veteran in the South Pacific. He formerly owned and operated F & J Somma Inc. in Orange, NJ. He had been a member of UNICO, American Legion, and VFW in Orange. He was preceded in death by his wife Ann Somma, sisters Ida, Mary and Jenny and brothers Ralph and Frank. He is survived by sons Joseph Jr., Thomas (MaryAnn), and twins Vincent (Carol) and Maryanne (Raymond), sister Lucy Tomasullo, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022, 11am at St. John Neumann Parish, St. John of God Church, 680 Townbank Rd., North Cape May. Visitation will be held prior to mass from 9:15am – 10:15am at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd., N Cape May. Entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover NJ. Memorial donations in Joseph's memory can be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516. Condolences will be received at www.EvoyFuneralHome.com
