Uncle Bob was a wonderful man. He always had great compassion for others. I remember him filming family events with his movie camera when I was younger and get togethers with our families. He always would ask about all the family when I spoke to him on the phone or saw him at Family reunions. It's hard to believe he is gone but so grateful to have known him. Caring and loving I think best describes my Uncle Bob. Praying all of his family will find peace in all of the memories you had with him.

I remember Bob Vander Decker .oh so well trusted brother of George Vander Decker. There were many years ago when celebrations were shared with George and Bob and their entire loving families..Bob Vander Decker was a very generous man and so welcoming. Bob played a part in influencing my life. I am so sorry for the loss but never lose sight of the influence he made in my life. Best, Mary Louise Adams

I was a secretary at Limestone Presbyterian Church many years ago. He was always so happy and helpful when he came into the office. He worked hard at keeping the Food Pantry stocked. I will keep him in my prayers.

No doubt about the great guy and hard worker.
But there was something else about him that I marveled about and prompted me to further study as much information that I could devour.
It was the study of the human mind.
One day, I was just at my wits end searching through all the books and papers trying to find the folio number of a particular part, when Bob said: "What are you looking for?"
I told him.
He just pulled it out of his mind. Just as simple as that.
From time to time, over the years, I would test him. And sure enough, no matter how obscure the part, he would just look up from what he was doing and give me the right answer.
That was until many years later when I was sent to Salem during an outage; I [just for the hell of it] I asked Bob for the folio number of a part that I had already found.
He looked up and I could see that he was very perplexed.
He couldn't remember the folio number; and that troubled him greatly.
